  • Managed maintenance work of a legacy reporting system at a major client in the automotive sector; work included dealing with customer requirements and managing remote developers.
  • Rebuild a data warehouse for one of the largest car-makers in the world, based on Microsoft SQL Server and Informatica to reflect a changed system landscape.
  • Developed a data mining model for the prediction of residual values of used commercial vehicles using Statistica.

Jul 2010 – present: Lecturer at Steinbeis School of Management and Innovation

  • Held a class in Information Systems Management including topics such as IT strategy and processes, e-commerce, data analytics, data warehousing, and business intelligence.

Jun 2009 – May 2011: Owner of DataRoxx

  • Developed a data warehouse solution for a startup in the e-commerce sector. Solution was based on Open Source business intelligence tools such as Pentaho and PostgreSQL.
  • Migrated change requests from a legacy Lotus Notes system to Microsoft Team Foundation Server for a client in the automotive sector.
  • Development of custom controls for Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

Aug 2010 – Nov 2010: Senior BI Engineer at Capgemini

  • Development of strategic management information systems (MIS).
  • Maintenance of a strategic MIS for one of the largest car-makers in the world.
  • Led a small team of BI engineers to develop a data warehouse to reconnoiter criminal acts for a customer in state security.
  • Used Pentaho, SAP Business Objects, Oracle, SAP Xcelsius, SAP Crystal Reports, and SAP Web Intelligence.

  • Research on a sophisticated neural network for regression and classification
  • Build a central data warehouse for text processing and preparation
  • Used academic tools such as RapidMiner (Yale) for text classification and other analysis tasks
