A short article that describes how to find abbreviations in Word documents, for example when creating a list of abbreviations.
To find abbreviations in Microsoft Word documents, use the wildcard search:
- Open the Find dialog and show the Advanced Options.
- Select Use wildcards
- Enter the following expression into the search box: [A-Z]{2,4}
This will find all abbreviations in your text that consists of upper case letters and has a length between two and four characters.
